Structured conversations for teams that want to think more clearly
We work alongside leadership teams in Malaysia to plan retreats, facilitate internal workshops, and design off-site programmes — so the work already decided upon gets the attention it deserves.
Three ways we can work together
Each engagement is scoped to fit the team's situation. No standard packages that stretch to fit — just the right kind of session for the work at hand.
Retreat Planning Working Session
A facilitated session that helps a small leadership team plan an upcoming internal retreat — the topics worth discussing, the rhythm that suits the group, and the materials to prepare in advance. Output includes a working agenda, a preparation note, and a list of supporting materials.
- Working agenda for the retreat
- Short preparation note for participants
- List of supporting materials
Workshop Facilitation Engagement
An engagement to facilitate a single internal workshop on an operational topic chosen by the company. Includes agenda drafting, preparation conversations with the internal sponsor, in-room facilitation, and a written readout afterward. Centred on helping the team have a structured conversation it has already decided to have.
- Agenda drafting and pre-session alignment
- In-room facilitation for the full session
- Written readout after the workshop
Off-site Programming Program
A multi-week programme that designs the full programming for a two- or three-day internal off-site, working closely with the internal sponsor. Covers structured working sessions, quieter reflection time, optional informal blocks, and a documented closing readout. Venue, travel, and hospitality remain with the company's coordinators.
- Full two- or three-day programme design
- Structured and informal session blocks
- Documented closing readout
What makes working with Rivermark worthwhile
Direction set by the team
We do not introduce external agendas. Every session starts from what the team has already decided is worth discussing.
Written outputs, not just notes
Each engagement closes with a document the team can use — a readout, a prepared agenda, or a set of supporting materials.
Focused on the room that matters
Our work is done with the internal sponsor, not around them. Preparation conversations shape the session before it starts.
Measured scope
Engagements are scoped clearly. There are no open-ended retainers — the work has a defined beginning and a clear close.
Based in Kuala Lumpur
We work with teams across Malaysia and are comfortable with both Klang Valley engagements and outstation off-sites.
Practical, not academic
The frameworks we use emerge from how leadership teams actually operate, not from a consulting textbook applied at a distance.
Is there a conversation your team keeps putting off?
A short planning session can help clarify whether it is worth scheduling a workshop or a larger off-site. The first step is a conversation with us — no lengthy briefing documents needed.
Questions we hear often
What kind of companies do you typically work with?
We work with small and mid-sized leadership teams in Malaysia, typically in professional services, technology, and privately held businesses. The common thread is a team that has an internal topic it wants to address deliberately, rather than reactively.
How long does each engagement typically take from first contact to delivery?
A Retreat Planning Working Session can usually be completed within one to two weeks of a first conversation. A Workshop Facilitation Engagement typically runs two to three weeks end-to-end, including preparation conversations. An Off-site Programming Programme is a multi-week engagement, generally four to six weeks depending on the complexity of the off-site.
Do you work outside Kuala Lumpur?
Yes, we are happy to work with teams based outside the Klang Valley, and to travel for in-room facilitation. Travel and accommodation would be discussed separately for engagements that require it.
What is included in the written readout?
The readout is a factual summary of what the team discussed, the decisions made, the questions left open, and any agreed follow-up steps. It is written to be used, not filed — the team should be able to refer back to it in subsequent meetings without needing to reconstruct the conversation from memory.
Is the content of sessions kept confidential?
Yes. What is discussed in sessions remains with the team. We do not share, publish, or reference client discussions in any form. Confidentiality terms are part of every engagement agreement.
Can we start with the smallest engagement and expand later?
Absolutely. Many teams begin with a Retreat Planning Working Session to assess fit before commissioning a facilitated workshop or off-site programme. Each engagement is self-contained, so there is no obligation to progress to a larger scope.
